Synopsis
A unique profile of British pop superstar Robbie Williams. It took a year and a half to get permission to film the lavish dance sequence on Regent Street in London over four nights, as it is actually owned by the British royal family. Two nights before the scheduled filming, after they had spent a week rehearsing in a studio recording on the street, Queen Elizabeth II died. and filming had to be postponed. Everyone had to be paid, including stores and crew, and the production’s insurance did not cover losses due to the monarch’s death, so the producers had to raise additional funds to film the sequence, which was shot five months later. The title character, Robbie Williams, is portrayed as a chimpanzee. Robbie Williams is not actually a chimp.
